Happy New Year: 2010
Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 12:08AM Well it feels like a long time coming but to be quite honest, passing the stroke of midnight almost twenty-four hours ago was mostly a relief for me. To me it signalled the end of a very challenging year on a variety of fronts, and at the same time renewed my optimism in what is lying ahead in 2010.
Specifically with Radarland/Jared Richardson Photography, I have started to make a move to make some changes. Over the last year, I have gotten good feed back about the discussion boards. I like the direction that the conversations were going, but did not seem to have enough traffic to really have them expand at all. At the same time, I have been looking for other ways to get people interested in my photography but also just in photography in general.
I have decided to give the popular social networks more of a try, and have created a Fan page on Facebook (Jared Richardson Photography). Most of the people who respond directly to me on my website also have a Facebook account. Besides, allowing me to promote Radarland and any associated services, the Fan page will provide a good forum for discussions about photography, or being able to plan out events such as photo walks. You will notice that I’ve added a Fan page badge to my footer information on the website to provide quick access to the discussions and other interactive items that will be taking place.
At this point, I’d like to say a big thank you to all of you who have become fans on Facebook. Your support is appreciated and I hope that you’ll get involved as the year progresses.
Happy New Year! It is going to be a good one!
