Photowalk Success

Well, I’m happy to be able to say that the first photowalk of 2010 was a success.  You can see the results on my Facebook Fan Page where the event was coordinated from.  At this point there may be some more pictures coming in, but overall the results have been great.  The topics were Nightlife and/or Gadgets, and I’ve been excited to see the different interpretations that were submitted.

If you check out the results, you will also see that there were a couple of videos that Graham Purse submitted following the Gadgets topic.  I think that the results that he got with his Canon HF200 are spectacular and shows that high quality video can be accomplished with a “budget consumer” video camera.  If you are not a member on my Facebook Fan Page then check out the videos at Graham’s YouTube page.

Thanks to all that participated or are still participating at this point.  I hope that you all take the time to check out the photos and leave some comments.

Cheers!

Photowalk: Nightlife and/or Gadgets

Well it looks like it’s time for another photowalk.  This time around, instead of publishing the pictures on the website here, everyone will be able to upload their pictures to the event on the Jared Richardson Photography Facebook page.  I am really looking forward to this upcoming event and am curious to see how many people participate.  So far I’ve coordinated two photowalks, and I have been astonished by the images that have been produced.  Each time I’ve learned something valuable from the experience, there is always a positive take away.

So for this one, why the the dual themes of Nightlife and/or Gadgets?  Well quite simply, I picked topics that I thought would spark people’s imaginations.  No matter when you start shooting during the event time (February 27 - 28, 2010), I hope that the theme will allow for inspiration and flexibility.

As always the main objective is to learn from each other and to improve on one’s skill.  As the pictures will be uploaded/displayed on the Facebook event, the intent is for the community to give feedback, suggestions, and to create some good memories.  If you have any questions, or would like to be involved, please feel free to check out the link above or contact me directly via the Contact form here on the website.

I hope I see some of your photos posted.

Apologies and Newslike Items

Well my furry Radarland friends, I must start off this post by apologizing for a couple of things.  The first one being that there hasn’t been a summer photowalk, even though it was talked about both here and in the Discussions area.  I had the best intentions, but have not been able to follow through.  That being said, I will be trying to get something together for the fall.  I truly do enjoy the photowalks, and receive fantastic feedback from participants and website guests each time one is completed.

Thank you for your participation in the Discussions area.  Over the next little while I hope that more activity starts taking place.  Please feel free to post any questions, photographic anecdotes or links to other interesting photography related items.

Coming up here at Radarland, will be some journal entries about my adventures with the Canon 50D, Snow Leopard, and Lightroom so stay tuned or subscribe to the RSS feed.

Well that’s all for now.  Have a great weekend!

Radarland Photowalk: Spring Fling Macro Thang

I thought that I’d put up a reminder for those interested in being involved with the Radarland Photowalk, to either email me directly or fill out the contact form from the navigation window to the right.  As well, if you would like an account here at Radarland to post on the discussion board, filling out the contact form would be a good start as well.

I’m happy that there is interest in doing another Radarland Photowalk after the first one back in March.  The topic for this one is “Spring Fling Macro Thang.”  I am very excited to see what results are this time around.  As I will be out of town and without internet access for a couple days this weekend, I will not be able to get the pictures up to be displayed the same day.  I will get them posted as soon as possible though, most likely on May 18.

More info to follow; thanks in advance for your involvement.

So what's the delay?!?

Well so there should be a good reason why the last time I updated my Journal was at the end of March.  As I was working through the “Photechography” series I had been writing, it let me to a point where I really sat back and began to evaluate my own workflow.  There I have stayed since that point.  Yes, I will be posting more specific workflow related topics, even continuing the Photechography topic specifically.

As the next Radarland Photowalk is coming up on May 16, 2009.  I will be posting more entries concerning that topic in particular.  If you are at all interested in becoming involved in the Radarland Photowalk, please check out the Discussions area.

Thanks as always for checking out Radarland!
