Happy Holidays

Christmas is my favorite time of year.  I think that it really comes down to the overall attitude of the season.  Whether you are celebrating a religious holiday or just chillin’ and taking advantage of the consumerism of the moment.   Either way, it is a time for family, friends, relaxation and reflection.  It is nice to see people take a step back and put others forward during this time.  Even though that would be nice to see year round, we all know that it doesn’t happen that way.  

For myself, this Christmas season is really important, for it represents a lot of new beginnings.  This is Harry’s first Christmas, and even though I know he won’t remember any of it, I will, and that is what counts.  Two years ago, Charlotte and I spent Christmas Eve in the ER finding out, and confirming some not good news.  Last year, we were able to announce that we were expecting Harry, and this year we get to help Harry experience his first Christmas.  That is, as long as he stays sleeping……  ;-)

There have been some other great changes that have taken place over the past few months.  I have resigned from the day job position that kept me out of town most of the time. I start a new day job at the beginning of January and we are very excited.  Not only will I now be able to see my family every day, but I’ll be able to pursue my personal photography projects along with spending more time working with Shannon for Vivid Light Studios.

Overall, this Christmas means a lot to me and currently I am revelling, and basking in it’s glory.

Are you ready?

Yes, I know, it has been rather quiet here on the Journal as of late.  If you’d like excuses, I can probably dig a couple up for you, but I’d rather not.  Instead, I’d like to just post a little note to let you know that there are some exciting things on the way.  Here are just a couple of them:

1. Both my wife and one of her sisters are close to their due dates, and we are excitedly preparing to welcome these little ones into our lives.  Please be assured that there will be photos…. lots of photos…..  you may get tired of the photos….  but I doubt it.
2. My partner Shannon and myself have been working hard on projects for our venture Vivid Light Studios and will be rolling out some changes and new content on both the main website and blog in the near future.

A Couple Items

Good evening…

I wanted to drop in and share a couple of items with you.  The first is that Lightroom 3 has been officially released and is available currently from Adobe.  The second is that the first photowalk hosted by Vivid Light Studios took place this last weekend, with submissions coming from Australia, Canada and the USA.  Thanks to all who participated.

Vivid Light Studios

I am very happy to announce my  involvement in Vivid Light Studios.  Vivid Light Studios is a new partnership between my friend/photographer Shannon McCarthy and myself.  Over the past few months, we have begun to plan and work on variety of projects together, and during this time we have decided to merge our professional services to offer our clients a more diverse and unique set of products.  Going forward, I will be providing my professional services under the Vivid Light Studios partnership.

Will things be changing here on your personal web site?  The short answer is:  Yes.  

Perhaps I should say that there will be some changes, but I will still be journalling and providing prints from my personal collection from this web site.  That being said, I am in the process of reviewing the content that I currently have posted and will be making some adjustments to what I am currently offering.  I will be keeping my Facebook Fan Page open, and will be posting updates, stories and links through it and this journal.

There are some exciting things ahead, and I thank you for your continued support.
